The leadership team behind TBS MUN 2025, dedicated to creating an enriching and impactful conference experience
The vision, dedication, and effort of our secretariat drives the success of TBS MUN
It is with great honour and enthrallment that I welcome you to TBSMUN 2025. As Secretary-General, it is my privilege to lead this conference, which I hope will be full of rigorous debate, diplomacy, and collaboration.
My journey with MUN began as someone deeply fascinated by Indian politics and history. Growing up, I was surrounded by people involved in politics and exposed to a variety of opinions and mindsets. During countless hours of listening, I discovered my own inclination toward politics—and since then, I have been reading and learning something new every day.
Over the years, this interest evolved from mere curiosity into a true academic pursuit. Through MUN I have been able to explore that curiosity, which in turn has shaped my aspirations. It has led me to take HL History in the IBDP, with the intent of pursuing Political Science at university.
MUN has always been more than an academic exercise: it is where I discovered my voice, learned to challenge and evaluate ideas, and—most importantly—developed a deeper understanding of governance, ideology, and lawmaking. It is this very spirit that I hope TBSMUN 2025 will embody, and I trust that each of you will experience it firsthand.
This year, we have curated a varied set of committees and agendas, ranging from the power struggles of national politics in the Lok Sabha to the intricate challenges of international diplomacy in DISEC. Whether you're defending a policy such as "One Nation, One Election," negotiating peace agreements in GA, or navigating crises in JCC, I urge you to embrace every challenge with your very best.
Beyond dramatic speeches and diplomatic maneuvering, MUN is about stepping into the shoes of decision-makers, questioning established narratives, and—most importantly—learning from one another.
I look forward to seeing all of you in committee and witnessing the passionate debate that makes MUN so special. Come prepared, bring your intellectual energy, and let's make TBSMUN 2025 an unforgettable experience.
See you soon!

It is with great pride and anticipation that I welcome you to the 2025 edition of The British School Model United Nations Conference. My name is Dakshesh Chetal, and I am honoured to serve as your Deputy Secretary-General for this year’s conference.
As a Year 12 student pursuing the IB Diploma Programme, my academic journey has been shaped by a deep interest in Economics, Computer Science, and the complex dynamics of global politics. From understanding power structures to analysing the incentives behind decision-making, MUN has been the space where theory meets real-world complexity. It has challenged me to think on my feet, listen with intent, and lead with empathy—skills that I believe are more relevant now than ever before.
This year’s conference brings together a diverse set of committees, each designed to reflect the urgency and nuance of the world we live in. Whether you’re navigating a volatile geopolitical scenario in the Joint Crisis Committee, debating the far-reaching implications of electoral reform in Lok Sabha, striving for disarmament and trust-building in DISEC, or shaping narratives as part of the International Press Corps, your role is crucial. These committees do not merely simulate diplomacy—they demand it. They ask you to look beyond surface-level solutions and engage deeply with the causes and consequences of today’s most pressing issues.
Beyond resolutions and speeches, MUN is about growth. It’s about discovering your voice in a room full of strong opinions, learning to build bridges in moments of disagreement, and walking away not just with ideas, but with a stronger sense of your place in the world. I encourage each of you to approach this conference not just as delegates, but as learners, listeners, and leaders.

It is an honour for me to invite you to The British School Model United Nations Conference 2025.
TBSMUN is more than just a simulation—it is a platform for thought-provoking discussions, intellectual challenge, and transformative growth. Here we will integrate people from diverse backgrounds and with unique perspectives in order to create a stimulating and challenging environment.
Our committees will cover a broad range of contemporary and urgent global issues. We will be addressing some of the most pressing challenges globally, from deliberating a potential World War Three in JCC to debating the agenda of “One Nation, One Election” in Lok Sabha. Be prepared for heated discussions and rigorous debates.
As the future leaders of the world, it is upon us to influence the legacy we leave behind. We encourage you to bring fresh opinions, innovative ideas, and creative strategies to the world’s complex problems.
However, at TBSMUN it is not solely about debate and diplomacy—beyond the committee sessions and speeches, it is also a celebration of community: the bonds and friendships you will make here, which will last forever.
As you prepare for this MUN, I urge you to remember the rules and regulations, as well as come well prepared by familiarising yourself with your respective committee agendas and background guides.
On behalf of the entire Secretariat, I welcome you once again to TBSMUN 2025. We look forward to witnessing your passion, your ideas, and your leadership in action.
Thank you, and hope to see you all soon.
